Our Body Composition scan and assessment Giving you the full picture of your body composition, including percentages of skeletal muscle mass, total body fat, visceral fat, total body water and your basal metabolic rate

“InBody 770 composition analyser goes further than scales or a tape measure but does not inflict an x-ray on patients, like the DEXA scan does. It gives a definitive picture of your body composition, which can be a great motivator to embark on a weight loss journey.”

What is Body Composition and why it is important to have an assessment?

Body composition measurement is a method of breaking down the body into its core components: protein, fat, minerals (bones), and body water. It describes your weight more accurately and provides a better glimpse into your overall health than other traditional measurement methods (like standard scales). Detailed body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentages.

A healthy balance between fat and muscle is vital for your health and wellness. Evidence from medical research shows that a healthy body composition will increase your lifespan by reducing the risks of insulin resistance, diabetes, heart disease, cancer and other conditions. It has also been shown to increase your energy levels and improve your self-esteem.

My Weight Loss Specialists use the most advanced technology in this field – the InBody 770 body composition and body water analyser.

Why we chose InBody 770: The latest technology in Body Composition analysis

  • Precise. The InBody 770 is 98% as accurate as the top level DEXA (Dual-Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry) scanner but without the x-ray radiation.
  • Information rich. It breaks down the body into its core components: protein, fat, minerals (bones), and body water and measures these details at the cellular level.
  • Comprehensive. Detailed individual measurements are provided for each of the body’s five cylinders (arms, legs and torso).
  • Faster. A faster scan that takes around 60 seconds to complete, unlike having an x-ray (DEXA scan) which can take up to 6 mins (and includes radiation).
  • Credible. Used around the world in extensive medical research studies and by the top athletes, medical institutions and NASA.

Medical interpretation of your results

After undertaking your scan, our bariatric physician Dr Daiva will take you through the analysed data carefully, explaining not only what the figures mean, but also how your body composition affects your health and what kind of strategies are the best for you in order to lose weight and achieve a healthy body composition.

By undergoing regular body composition scans throughout our program, you’ll be able to track and measure the changes in your body composition and chart your progress over time. That will help you quickly and easily monitor and track your progress in reaching your weight loss goals, and make adjustments to your diet or training strategies as you progress along your weight loss journey.
